OUR STORY
It all started in 2012, when the owners Ketevan Akolashvili and Christian Hubert decided to purchase some land for the plantation of vineyards. Ketevan is from the village of Velistsikhe in the Kakhetian region of Georgia, which is where they decided to settle their activity.
In 2013, Shota Akolashvili, Ketevan's father, gave them a first plot of land planted with old vineyards. In the following years, adjacent plots were acquired and planted with new vineyards to finally constitute a small estate of 12 hectares.
In 2018, the old qvevris in Ketevan's family house were refurbished. The qvevris were installed by Shalva Akolashvili, Ketevan's grandfather, in 1950 when he started to produce wine and export it to other Soviet Republics. In 2018, a first saperavi qvevri red wine was produced in 300 bottles.
In 2019, 30 new qvevris of various capacities were ordered and the construction of a new traditional marani was launched close to the vineyards.
OUR LOGO
Our logo is inspired by a pre-Columbian shamanic woman figure. We are often being asked the reason behind such an unusual choice. For us, it emphasizes the growing role of women winemakers in the renewal of Georgian wine traditions.
Additionally, all primitive religious beliefs are built around the universal concept of the power of nature. This is exactly the fundamental idea behind the natural wine movement. Tilisma in Georgian means “talisman”. The shamanic woman is our protective talisman and our connection with the forces of nature.
